Dr. Mindith R. Rahmat is a Core Faculty Member in the Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology (MACP) program at Antioch University’s Santa Barbara campus. With a teaching style grounded in inclusivity, compassion, intentionality, and joy, Dr. Rahmat creates vibrant online and in-person learning environments. She centers her pedagogy on the lived experiences of her students, co-creating equitable, affirmative, and accessible conditions that foster resilience, well-being, and flourishing.
Through her innovative Compassion-Focused Pedagogy (CFP), Dr. Rahmat emphasizes relational approaches to teaching that cultivate deeper connections, empathy, and mutual support among learners and educators.
Education and Expertise
Dr. Rahmat holds a PsyD in Educational Psychology from Alliant International University and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Marshall University. Her professional journey reflects over 25 years of experience as a yoga, mindfulness, and meditation instructor. She is a certified trauma-sensitive mindfulness (TSM) teacher, a mindful self-compassion (MSC) instructor, and a mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR-T) teacher for teens and young adults. Additionally, she is an Integrative Yoga Therapy certified yoga instructor with specialized training in trauma-sensitive organizational systems, advanced trauma-sensitive mindfulness, compassion-based psychotherapeutic interventions, and yoga therapy and mindfulness.
